I've seen a few of these around the internet, where people buy a painting at a thriftstore and then paint something over it. I bought the painting months and finally got around to improving it. This one is The Legend of Zelda themed.

One last thing from last semester
This was my final project for Illustration. Concept work for a short animated film I've wanted to create for some time. Essentially a hunter of fantastical beasts that are based off of real animals.

Colossi
Our latest assignment in Illustration was to make an advertisement for anything of our choice. Being the awesome nerd that I am, I chose a video game called: Shadow of the Colossus. I made a couple posters for it. Here are those and a page showing a glimpse at my planning process.
The semester is nearly over, and there a lot of art projects I haven't posted yet that I will probably post all together.

The Hobbit book cover redesign
We spent the past four weeks on this project in my illustration class. Our assignment was to pick a book and redo its cover. Since the Hobbit is my favorite book it was the obvious choice. (Right click and open in new window for full size, it's massive)

New tablet, new fun!
So I finally bought a new tablet (This one). This is my first finished painting with it. I am loving it. It's a lot bigger than my last one, has a bunch of nice programmable buttons on it, touch (fingers) capability, and the pen recognizes tilt too. So hopefully I'll be doing paintings more often, since they just got even more fun to do. I did the sketch on the right in church, then brought it into Photoshop and finished it up on the left.
